Something to think about. I know the prices are outrageous at my local store. Went to the store, bought 3 bags with no meat cost me $84! Thinking of going veggie!
Don't know how families can continue to cope.

It is kinda scary, working retail, I work with many people making very modest salaries, and they were barely hanging on before gas and food prices started skyrocketing.

I am one of the luckier ones, even though I make very little, I have a SO that brings in a second paycheck, we also carry very little debt (only one inexpensive car payment, the other is paid off). I also am very lucky to live and work near multiple grocery stores, so I can take advantage of all of their sales to keep the food bill down without using extra gas to drive all over town (gas jumped $.30 per gallon between tanks this time a 2 1/2 week time span).

I wonder when this gouging of consumers by the oil companies will stop, it just looks like pure greed with no reason for the sharp increase, I saw on the news yesterday that in London they are paying $11 per gallon. I wish where I live had a decent public transport system, I would utilize it.

My hubsband is from London. We were over visiting in November. It is cheaper for the truck drivers to take the ferry to France to get gas instead of paying the English prices.
The price of food is effecting the local food pantries. I wonder what will happen to those rely on local food pantries to feed their families.
