White Sox fans are not noted for having a history of culinary appreciation. Some of us remember when the beer of choice at old Comiskey was Falstaff. You drank it to wash down a 50-cent cheese sandwich.
But a suburban sushi restaurant may be changing that image.
Blu Coral in Woodridge is offering White Sox sushi on its menu. Dreamed up by executive chef Soon Park, its Sox connection comes from its colors: super white tuna and black tobiko.
"[Sox fans] like the idea of it," said owner David Yi. "It's a fun thing—and good too."
At first I thought they meant they were going to serve sushi at the park. They have some unusual park foods at the Cell, and I've heard its some of the best available at a ballpark.
