Good article, kinda what I said awhile back we need to go back in the kitchen and cook, with real food, no prepared dishes that we just throw in the microwave or reheat in the oven. I wonder if people really had to cook a meal from scratch could they, could they bake the bread, could they dig the fresh potatoes, would they know what leaf lettuce is, or what the difference is between a beef steak and a plum tomato, or where the bacon actually comes from, or that carrots are a root vegetable. The boy had a girl friend (who graduated HS) that thought eggs came from the store, she did not know that chickens laid eggs, I about flipped, trying to figure out how you could get so far in life and be that ignorant. Some day ask your children's friends some question about food you'd be surprised at the answers you will get.

Me and daughter could make anything and everything. I love my kitchen as well (see Avatar) and spend a great deal of time in there.
I look out the window, above the sink, quite a bit as I have my bird sanctuary out there. Very relaxing to observe the little babies!BerryBaby

right there with you BB, except do not have daughter to teach, sons well they can do enough to get by and seems that is all they want but are not afaird to try, and smart enough to ask when they do not know. Picture was taken from my breakfast area, where we have 7 ft windows over looking the back yard.

Working in a grocery store, we sell tons of processed foods, the frozen food section is one of the busiest places in the store.
I guess that I am one of the lucky ones, with my modest upbringing my mom had no room in the food budget for convenience/prepared foods so she cooked almost everything from scratch.
The kitchen is my sanctuary, I just feel good being there. I can't wait until we buy our first home, so I can make the kitchen more "my own", but the current one will do for now, it isn't too bad for a rental.

Hey, the kitchen is coming back! Ihave four children and they all love the kitchen. They have too, they have figured out how good food can be.There is room for all God's creatures....right next to the mash potatoes.
You must learn to love to learn.
