Inexpensive Refrigerator Deodorizer

I'd heard of this tip but always laughed it off thinking, yah, right. But I'll tell you, it really works. And it works well.

If you have an odor in your fridge, take a sheet of newspaper, wad it up into a ball, wet it under the faucet and squeeze the water out. Then throw the ball in your fridge. Overnight the odors will be gone.

Does it smell like a wet newspaper then? I will take your word for it if you tried it and it worked.

I put baking soda in mine sometimes.

I just heard it on Food Network where you shove crumbled up newspaper in your fridge if your electricity goes out. Keeps it cold longer?

Anyway, I can see where it works. You can use newspaper to clean your car windows as well.

use the black and white sections to wash your house windows also, cleans beautifully. Will give it a try for the ice box, I always keep a baking soda in there for the onion odor.

We use old newspaper to wipe down the windows at work.

Yes, the ball of newspaper will smell like wet newspaper but when it's in the fridge, you don't smell it. In fact, the next day it'll still be somewhat moist but it doesn't smell unless you actually put your nose right next to it.

It seems to work on onion odors a lot better for me than baking soda.
