Rep Power: 10 | US checks if tomatoes caused Salmonella outbreak US checks if tomatoes caused Salmonella outbreak AP via Yahoo! News - 3 minutes ago As salmonella cases continue to climb, the government is checking if tainted tomatoes really are to blame for the record outbreak — or if the problem is with another ingredient, or a warehouse that is contaminating newly harvested tomatoes.

Rep Power: 10 | Are any of the rest of you as troubled as I am that something like this makes it's rounds in the food supply and the people in charge of taking care of and finding these things don't seem to have a clue???
I mean if something really serious starts wiping people out, (and I mean in this day and time think of all the possibilities) are they going to be able to stop it before all of us are killed or damaged forever?

Rep Power: 1 | Well that's what I asked before if they can not trace the place where the tomatoes are coming from, how do they know it was the tomatoes to begin with, I think someone jumped the gun on this, I know better safe than sorry but please get the facts before going off on a dieing horse. It should not be to long once they figure out where it is coming from to clean up. Like the spinach deal.

Rep Power: 0 | Wow! It is really scary that they cannot trace the source. If it is not the tomatoes, just think of how many were wasted and how many farmers have been affected by this outbreak. I hope that this is a wake-up call to have better tracking of our food supply! |

Rep Power: 10 | Heard on the news tonight that now they are thinking it isn't tomatoes causing the problems.
I don't know, I've been eating tomatoes all year and I'm fine. Don't where they come from.
THey are really going to have to investigate exactly what people consumed and when.

Rep Power: 3 | Well, on the flip side, it should lower the price of tomatoes, so stock up!

Rep Power: 1 | Okay, now tell me how do they even know or how can they think it is by the sounds of this a southwestern type dish ? sounds like they are looking for a needle in a haystack. hell maybe these people all ate breakfast burritos from fast food joint or somewhere and it is the eggs, they have no idea what they are looking for, so why broadcast anything. Once again, no facts, wrong information, and no clue as to what the truth is. I wonder did they ask these people what they ate or just ask them did you eat anything with tomatoes in it ? what about the tortilla's maybe its the flour they are made with or the lard ? so by the sounds of it they are linking this to Mexican type food ? and are they even sure of that ?
