They have been shrinking the candy bars for a couple years now, but they can not do that now, it would disappear. Use to be able to get the one for a .05 was the size of the .99 today.

I do also!

Boy, have things changed drastically since then!!! We as kids, used to go to the store store and get a whole small little bag of penny candy filled to the top for only 20 cents!!!

There was Hollywood, Big Time. Kunch Bar and Zero Bar. All for only 5 cents apiece!!!
Back then, if you had a dollar or two, you were FILTHY-RICH!!!

I remember when they were 35 cents at Arbor Drugs.

Luckily we have Mars and Nestle as clients here. We get a lot of free candy...but I swear, everything is going up except my paycheck.

I loved going to the penny candy stores. They were the 7-11 of our day.

We had three of them to chose from and even with a dime you could get 10 pieces of different things....bull's eyes, jawbreakers, Chum Gum, candy buttons, licorice records, licorice whips, Mary Jane's, pretzel sticks, Tootsie rolls, Sputnik blue gum balls coated in sugar, wax bottles filled with liquid, Lik-a-maid, Pixie sticks, for a dime you could get a caramel apple. Those were such fun times!

One of my favorites from those stores was BB Bats (the banana ones), Bit O' Honey and Bulls Eyes.
