Rep Power: 2 | Well, when you bake a product, and the aroma is running all through the house, any guests there will immediately start to compliment you on how good it smells and looks!!

Rep Power: 1 | I do all the cooking, my partner is good at warming stuff up. He has little to no interest in cooking, and I like it that way, the kitchen is all mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My passion is baking, but I am told that my cooking isn't too shabby either! I can't wait for cooler weather to do some slow cooking, I love soups and stews as well as pot roast.( along with homemade italian bread.. thanks Chap for the recipe!) It is hard to get in the mood when it stays warm here so long, it will be december before we get good cool days.

Rep Power: 10 | I made cubed steak today. I have been thinking about it since we talked about it here and it was a little cooler today because of the rain. I like the slow cooking cool days too. |

Rep Power: 0 | Wow, this chain really took off today! Never really thought about it, but I believe it's about an equal mix in our house. It's just the wife and I and our 18 year old black feline, Mr. Homie, or Dr. Meowmi San. (And yes we have actually cooked for him).
Seems like we switch off. Some of the time we will post a dinner recipe on the fridge so that the other knows that either they don't have to make anything that day, or to stay out of the kitchen, however you want to look at it. Hehe But we seem to switch off pretty evenly without planning it that way. As long as I clean the kitchen when I am done playing, I stay out of trouble.
Today we both cooked. I baked fresh wild Alaskan Silver Salmon (COHO) with a grilled peach, mango, serrano and mint reduction, while she made Japanese style Chinese Chicken and Cucumber soup with red bean paste and ginger.
Tomorrow it's Cloves recent Mussel recipe down below (for which today I picked up 3 pounds of live New Zealand Green Lipped Mussells), then Friday Aaron McCargo's Broccoli Cheese Casserole. Plans being on the fridge a few days in advance are pretty normal as it helps remember what to get when shopping.
We use a 1300w Inverter microwave for thawing meats, and reheating leftovers. I believe that at least 2 days out of the week, we eat frozen "leftovers" or rather premade dishes. We also have a bread machine that we bought in Japan (where they were created). The majority of Japanese households have a bread machine, they are extremely common there. A little expensive but when you get used to using it almost every day, you recoup your expense and wonder how you ever got along without one.
One of my favorite tools is a George Foreman counter-top grill. |

MAC | We don't have that many cool days here (just a wee bit in Jan/Feb), so when I'm baking or doing something that needs a long simmer I have to turn up the AC. Thank goodness I can use my smoker to roast in on warm days to keep that heat out of the kitchen and the house. |

Aaahh, you got rid of the green tea kettle! I liked looking at that!!
Anyway, cube steak is what I use when making soup. After the beef stock is made, strained and degreased, I start to add some barley, let that cook until soft and swelled up. then the veggies, and then I pre-fry two or three cube steaks, dice them up and add the meat to the soup. I let it cook for about 45 minutes, and there it is, beef barly & veggies soup!! Mmmmm!!! |

Rep Power: 2 | I Do almost all the cooking, except there are certain things the wife will not eat unless she makes them her way, she does her meatloaf, and her spaghetti, both all okay but bland, Otherwise it is me and I am getting better at making just enough for the two of us now. It is hard to cook for just two because god forbid she would ever eat a leftover over, unless it is tacos. Have a great day it off to work, wish my wife would get a rich paying job so I could stay home and be a house husband.
