Who does the cooking in your house?

Ellen Koven: We take turns.
Coming home to a delicious-smelling hot meal on the stove is pretty nice, especially after you've worked all day.
My husband and I take turns cooking dinner so that at least half the time we'll be the pampered one -- at least until it's time to clear the table. In the beginning of our marriage we had a sort of 50/50 arrangement, with most weekends off. But our work schedules became so different that a few years ago I volunteered to cook on Saturdays and Sundays (when we didn't go out) so I could get a pass on my busier work days. We split up the days when each of us would be responsible for feeding the family. We agreed that Friday is a "pickup" day. From the looks of area restaurants and pizza deliveries, the rest of the world thinks so, too.
