I usually like to add a slice of ham into mine. When I make one for uncle I put in slices of jalapeños or tabasco peppers.
And of course each sandwich has to have two slices of good ole craft american cheese.

I used to like to put bacon in them. Except one time I made bacon in the microwave for it but I cooked it waaaaaaaaay to long and it was so gross. Now I can't put bacon in my sandwiches. Its fine if I go out to eat and its in there, but I can't do it.

I put tomato slices and sometimes dill pickle slices....American cheese, usually, but I do enjoy a Swiss cheese as well.

I like the traditional american cheese. I also like very little butter on the bread, I can't stand it if it is too greasy.

If I am feelin' fancy I'll do a couple different cheeses!

I like Swiss cheese in ALL of my grilled sammies. Any one that's grilled, Swiss is always the main cheese. Because it has far less salt than American cheese.

Any meat, be it pastrami, corned beef, bacon or turkey, even pulled pork or fresh brisket, Swiss is the only cheese that I'll eat in ANY sammie. Especially grilled cuban sammies!

I like a grilled pumpernickel and white cheddar sandwich. I really like to make them in the panini grill, with just a little real butter.

I used to do cheddar cheese in a grilled sammie.

My George Foreman grill suffices as a panini grill.

Had me a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch today.

I like mine with American cheese & pepperoni. Plus, the sandwich HAS to be pressed thin via sandwich grill. I just can't do the frying pan version.
