I love anchovy paste in my tomato sauce for pizza and spaghetti.

I know they add flavor, but I just can't bring myself to looking at them. When Giada pulls them out of a jar I have to turn away. They look all furry and slimy at the same time.
Gives me the heebie-jeebies!

The paste is great. You don't have to deal with all of that. It's like brown toothpaste.

You would never know it's there. But the flavor reward is great ... you just aren't sure what's making it better, it just better.

I used to say that ... till I tried it.

I guess I'm just not big on salty things. I don't use too much salt on what I make. And anything that's naturally that salty is not very appetizing to me. Part of the reason I buy turkey bacon instead of pork.

If I use that I don't add salt. It balances out nice that way.

I'm with Jon. I don't like the smell, taste or looks of them...well......maybe if you paid me...
