Chef Giada De Laurentiis arranges sun-dried tomato and goat... (Rick Egan/The Salt Lake Tribune )
PARK CITY - Giada De Laurentiis, celebrity chef, cookbook author - and mother-to-be - says being part of The Sundance Film festival combines two of her favorite ingredients: food and movies.
"It mixes what I know so well, with what I grew up with," said De Laurentiis, one of several top-ranked chefs cooking for the stars during the 11-day film festival, which ends Sunday.
Next to the films, these "invitation-only" parties, held everywhere from restaurants and clubs to exclusive homes in the mountains surrounding Park City, are among the most popular events at the festival.

I really don't like any kind of goat cheese...and I especially don't like any cheese that stinks!

I have seen what goats eat and I want no part of anything produced by their bodies.

Hadn't thought about that. We use to go to a goat farm when we were little to buy goat's milk for my sisters. I just recall how horrible it smelled there.

I love goats. My step-brother has several goats on his little farm. They really don't eat anything bad. Eating tin cans is a myth. They like the glue on the cans, not the cans. And goats shouldn't have access to garbage any more than a pig should. However, I don't eat goat cheese either. It is the male goat that smells. He thinks that odor attracts the girls and likes being stinky. A good dairy will keep the males far from the females until he's needed. The milk will pick up his odor. I can always smell the male in goat cheese.

On The Next FN Star, the girl from Texas with the big smile was given goat cheese as a secret ingredient. She told Alton she didn't like it and he said he'd never heard of anyone who didn't like it. She explained that she'd been around goats and knew that smell. He didn't get it.

What really bothers me is how restaurants so freely toss goat cheese on salads without listing it on the menu.

It's gotten to the point that ask what is on the salad before ordering. They usually say 'goat cheese' and I ask "Why don't you have it listed on the menu?" The usual answer is, "We should. I don't know why they don't list it." So annoying!

With so many being lactose intolerant, you would think restaurants would be a bit more precise with menu ingredients.

I saw that episode of FNS and gagged when I saw her ingredient. I felt sorry for her. That would be like them giving me lamb to cook. I'd have to resign from the show! Couldn't do it.

Oh I have been around goats, I am convinced they are inherently evil. At my uncle's place they would eat the shingles off the dog house and the dog poop, paper off of anything, some clothing if you got too close. And their eyes creep me out with the pupils shaped that way .

Alright MayQueen, you like goats! They are not cattle but hey they are fun. Just had little ones here. Guess I need to post those over there...

Over the past weekend my wife rolled goat cheese and I suspect other stuff, in wraps. Then fried and was added to each salad. SON!! It was great.

I know goat cheese is very popular and, for as many times as I tried it, I just couldn't bring myself to get past the nasty taste of it. I had the same problem with lamb. It's probably more of an acquired taste......like chocolate-covered deep-fried larvae, LOL.

(I'm not saying anything negative about goats....just the cheese they produce.)

I'm with you, Jeanne, lamb and anything made from goats is nasty to my tastebuds and nose!
