Rep Power: 10 | When I had daughter, my neighbor worked in maternity and she was suppose to get off work. Guess what? She was all excited I was there that SHE decided to stay and be my nurse. That was a bit uncomfortable to have your neighbor tending to you.
Other than her (and the doctor/midwife), my husband was the only one there and I didn't even want him in the room! Those who have been through it understand what I'm talking about.

Rep Power: 2 | Thank you for saying that, BerryBaby; now I don't feel so odd for not really wanting my husband with me for the actual delivery. I won't deny him this, of course, but... |

Rep Power: 10 | At one point, I wanted everyone to leave. Just wait, you'll understand.
I wish you all the best...it is a wonderful experience and I have only good stories that I recall.
Do you know if it is a boy or girl? I didn't want to know. Everyone predicted boy, and surprise she isn't even a pinhead amount of male...very girly, always has been and it's been 28 years.

Rep Power: 2 | No, I didn't want to know either whether I'm having a boy or a girl. I've been thinking of that old saying though, "A son is a son until he takes a wife but a daughter is a daughter all her life." |

Rep Power: 10 | They will always be your baby, no matter what age, who they marry or where they live.
And, from the day they are born, you will never stop worrying about them and that's good. They are truly gifts.

The Food Network chef and her hubby, Todd Thompson, named their little sous Jade Marie De Laurentiis Thompson. The baby is the first for the Food Network ... |

Rep Power: 2 | I did wonder if they would give the baby her father's last name or if she'd take Giada's famous grandfather's name as Giada did. I don't know if Giada's mother was married to Giada's father but isn't it traditional for Italian babies to take their father's name? |

Rep Power: 10 | You must admit that Giada De Laurentis is a more interesting name than Giada Thompson. Same for Jade Marie De Laurentis versus Jade Marie Thompson.
Just doesn't have the same ring or flow to it.
