Giada book signing

Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis is signing her new cookbook, "Giada's Kitchen: New Italian Favorites," from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 17 at Sur La Table, inside the Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas. A ticket is necessary to gain access to the cookbook signing and meet and greet. Fans must purchase a copy of the book at Sur La Table beginning Oct. 1 to get a ticket to the event.

To me thats just not right, you have to buy the book at the store, which they make money off of, then you have to buy a ticket to have the author sign the book she wrote and is selling and making money off of, something has gotten far way to greedy for my taste. I would not mind having to buy the book at the store which is putting on the event, but having to pay for a ticket to get it signed. That would stop me from ever buying anything at the store, and probably would not buy the authors cook book or any book by them again. TO me that is just plain greed and not right.

They don't charge for the Ticket...

The ticket is so they can gauge how many people will be there and plan ahead for crowd control. They don't charge for the ticket, just the book.

Thanks for the info. I would imagine it would make it easier to keep things orderly.
