I liked Rodney Dangerfield because he was a talented comedian and his 'no respect' shtick was--well.....just that.
Sadly, money as criteria rules in people's eyes. If pandering to the lowest common denominator via DDD is a good thing, I must be in the wrong place.

rather we like it or not, it is one thing we can not live with out, it is not money rules but it does control how we get along in life, pays for food so we can eat, pays for gas and electricity so we can cook, pays for television so we can watch Foodnetwork, pays for the computer so we can argue this point all day long, yes sadly enough money is a crietria we all live with, and there must be people who enjoy Guy or he would not be doing what he is continuing to do, and yes he is probably laughing all the way to the bank, just as Rodney did and by no means did I imply you lower your standards to accept the fact that Guy is doing well at what he does, even if we do not like it.

Well Guy seems to like everyone and treats everyone like a friend. So he makes plenty of money with his persona. And although I do enjoy and like to watch Anthony, he seems to like few people and think he is better than most, so he keeps slamming doors for getting as many shows as Guy. It will be interesting to see how he does now that Scripps also owns the travel channel. Bite the hand that feeds you enough and soon you go hungry.

I don't believe Bourdain thinks he's better than others--I think his commentary comes from a place of knowledge and experience--something Guy wholly lacks. Anyone with any respect for the food could see through Guy's nonsense. Snarkiness does not diminish the truth that is being told. If Bourdain takes leave of a Scripps production I wouldn't blame him one bit. Anyone with any integrity has already left TFN building (Batali, Emeril, Bourdain [remember Chef's Tour being canceled?] also...)
Are some of you being paid by TFN? TFN has become a culinary wasteland. Sandra Lee, Rachael Ray and the plethora of mindless shills are what now inhabit the space.
Wakey wakey!!! I mistakenly believed this site was something it is not so I'll take my leave with my sanity and integrity intact. Sorry for the intrusion. Read the reasons why Guy is indefensible:

None of us are paid. But this is a fan site. So people who are fans of Guy Fieri are bound to register here. Just like people who are fans of Mick Jaggar would join a Rolling Stones Fan site. I do realize he has fans and since he has a forum here ... and he is a Food Network star, people who like him join the site. I would think that would be obvious. I am sure everyone isn't going to like everyone on the Food Network, but once again ... this is a FAN site and it covers a wide range of people.
There are lots of "I hate" sites and sites poking fun at the stars out there, and that's great if that's their focus. Anyone who does a successful theme that works for them and has dedicated themselves to a website, I would congratulate them for doing so. I know how much work it takes to build a theme and maintain a site, and I understand websites tend to be about something and have a overall theme. Oddly enough, fan sites usually cater to fans.

Have I missed something ? I do not believe I said I liked Guy, but he does do a good job of hosting DDD, as for Bourdain , he is a good cook, but eats weird stuff IMHO( stuff that sometimes makes me gag) and he is very opinionated, that does not make him a bad person, but when you start judging others you tend to open your self to criticism also. As for the food network I have always been wondering why they did away with all the chefs, one of my very first topics when I joined. I still think it was a mistake but there are some shows I enjoy, some I do not watch at all, and by not watching it is my way of saying this show sucks, but I try to leave it at that. And find the positive shows that I enjoy to comment on. As much as most of us hated to see the chefs go, we look forward to seeing them come back maybe on other networks though, and now we will have the Cooking Channel as well, only thing we can do is sit back and wait to see what happens, just like we have been doing. My hats off to FNF for running a good site and keeping it under control so we do not have a lot of hatred posting going on.

I really don't have that much emotion invested in any of the stars. There are several that I like a lot, but not enough to put myself in turmoil over what someone else thinks of them. I like the Food Network mostly because I like to cook and learn about food. My geographical location limits my access to a lot of things I would never see if they weren't on TV. It's fun for me, and I don't like every star on the network, but my remote seems to end the problem for me. And I don't really care if someone likes someone I don't or vice versa, but I do have forums for people who are fans of the more well known stars regardless of how I feel about them . Silly me I thought food on TV would be a nice non controversial type site. I really don't need anymore things to fret over.
I never really viewed DDD as Guy giving his opinion on the food other than just eating what they fix because they are making it on TV. I have always thought of him as the host who sort of narrates what's going on and asks questions. I don't think I have ever seen him say something negative. It's more like they have invited him into their kitchen and he is playing up their big seller.

So, you think the likes of Alton Brown, Anne Burrell, Alex Guarnaschelli and Ina Garten are mindless shills with no integrity?
I don't care for Sandra Lee, Rachael Ray and a few others, but that is what my remote is for. And, it doesn't bother me if others here are fans of those... cause, they have every right to like those FN personnels as well I have to like mine. Different strokes for different folks. Being a fan of someone like Guy doesn't make them any less of a person than a fan of Bourdain, Batali, etc. Most of all, cook from the heart, and you’ll never be lonely when the dinner bell rings! - Chef Robert Irvin
