In Defense of Guy Fieri
In Defense of Guy Fieri
Is there more to the Food Network star than loud schtick, spiked-up style and gigantic, greasy burgers? And who cares if there's not?

During a discussion at the Food Network's recent New York City Wine and Food Festival, author, No Reservations host and professional leather jacket wearer Anthony Bourdain asked his fellow panelist, culinary wunderkind Chef David Chang, "Who chaps your ass?" Chang was quick to rake Guy Fieri over the coals, citing his "douche glasses," and "stupid f***ing armband," and went on to ask a gleefully obliging Bourdain to "catch me and kick me in the ass" should he ever find him similarly adorned. Chang went on to add, "I'm sure he's a swell fella." The crowd went wild.

He doesn't like Guy because he wears accessories? Doesn't seem like a very valid reason.
He should say, "I don't like the accessories he wears."

They're pobably just jealous because Guy is popular enough to sustain 3 different tv shows. Frankly, Tony strikes me as a wee bit of a pompous prat.

Tony's grandmother must not have given him the "if you can't say something nice" speech.

I hope he makes plenty of money, and clearly plenty of people like him whether or not the foodies do.

A lot of things tick Bourdain off. Y'all every hear his rant about overweight people?

Come on, let's get serious about Guy. Foodies aren't' JEALOUS of Guy because he has 3 shows and money. I'm sorry but people always say that when there's valid criticism of a Food Network so-called star. Mostly, they are anointed by the network itself and not anyone with any serious food knowledge. Remember he has these shows because the network is invested in his success, not because he really is talented. They throw good money after bad. Look at Melissa D and Aaron M for continued examples.
Guy is a hack and he is thoroughly irritating to watch. Before we question my motives for this opinion I will tell you I lived in Santa Rosa, CA for a little while and I'm familiar with his original eateries (Garlic John's and Tex Wasabi). His food is mostly slop and his persona is equally as bad.
Bourdain and Chang may be cranky but they are on the money."Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans ... are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit."

Guy is the Rodney Dangerfield of food, a lot people did not like Rodney because of his weird sense of humor, a lot do not like Guy because he is weird but for DDD he is just right, drop the other shows, and meanwhile he keeps raking in the money !
