Rep Power: 2 | TGIFridays Commercials He's all over my TV again now pimping TGIFridays new "Ultimate Recipe Showdown Menu." I find it interesting that FN allows restaurants to compete over their chefs. Tyler Florence does Applebees and now Guy is doing TGIFridays. Too bad there isn't one of those close to me, the food is so much better than Applebee's. |

Rep Power: 10 | We have both almost right across the 4 lane from each other. I like both but I do prefer Fridays. |

Rep Power: 10 | I guess if that is all you have it is better than nothing. However, I don't care for either of them, or Olive Garden, Chilis, etc. as I can make food 100% better without the hassle of waiting, service, etc.

Rep Power: 10 | My Mom really enjoys the Fridays Pecan crusted chicken salad, it has little cranberries in it too.

Rep Power: 10 | I make a spinach salad with slivered almonds, spinach, mandarin oranges and a poppyseed vinegarette. Delicious!

I tend to order items I know I like, but I also can make those dishes too. So, I end up saying mine is much better. :coolg: |

Rep Power: 10 | My kids like to go so it's a treat for them every so often. When we travel with my husband it gets old fast though. |

Rep Power: 10 | If I was a kid, I'd enjoy those places too! However, my tastes have changed over the years. Plus, the noise factor in most of the places is a bit much for me.
Am I getting old or what?! Boy, I sound like a biddy!

Rep Power: 2 | When I worked (hopefully will be again soon) I enjoyed going to lunch at Fridays and even Applebee's. It's only me and my daughter and she's too picky. It's easier for me to go out for lunch than make lunch every day. Who has that kind of time and wants to have the same thing night and day two days in a row every day. |

Rep Power: 0 | Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm kinda spacey right now and blanking out, but.....Wasn't it part of the grand prize on the cook off show Guy hosted? To have your recipe featured on the TGIFridays menu? Somebody help me here, what's the name of that show? The one where 3 contestants prepared a dish, and there were 3 categories, with 3 different sets of contestants? Shoot......now it's driving me crazy.
I had lunch at TGIFridays last week, and so far, didn't see anything featured on the menu, but maybe this restaurant didn't have new menus. Who knows.
Not sure about Tyler, but I know his dishes are featured prominently on Applebees menu.
I agree, I don't go to those places often, but when I'm on an all day shopping trip, both places are better than Mickey D's. |
