Rep Power: 0 | What's up with the name change? Does anybody have an answer to why Guy changed his last name from Ferry, to Fieri? |

Rep Power: 10 | I didn't realize he had, I thought it was always Fieri.

Rep Power: 10 | Sounds like someone is making up stories...he's Italian and his last name is Italian.
Guy's first name is Guido.
Where did you hear his last name was Ferry? This sounds like a made up story.

Rep Power: 10 | Maybe someone saw the way he spells it and pronounced it Ferry when they told you about it. He does pronounce it differently from the way you would assume it should be spelled, but that's because he is Italian. He Giada's up his name like she does spaghetti and bruschetta. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re; Guy's name change I live in Santa Rosa, home of Johnny Garlic's, and Tex Wasabi's, and photos of Guy's father are printed listing his last name as "Ferry". I was curious so I did a little P.I. work, and discovered that all of the legal listings in Santa Rosa for Guy Ferry, were coincidentally listed with information that tracks identically with Guy Fieri, however there is no listing for a separate person named Guy Fieri. And all of his family members are listed with the last name Ferry. Coincidence? I don't think so, but I would love to hear the story. |

Rep Power: 10 | Okay with that info I can find something for you but it doesn't really answer your question. Quote:
About 50 friends, fans and co-workers turned out at Fieri's Russell Ramsey's Chop House on Sunday night to watch the final episode and to cheer him on.
When a video clip showing a Santa Rosa highway exit appeared on the bar's big screen TV, the crowd went wild.
"I think Santa Rosa really came out for the hometown boy," said his father, Jim Ferry of Santa Rosa. "I'd say the whole North Coast."
Ferry said if his son has half the success of other major celebrity chefs like Emeril, it could do wonders for the community's profile and its reputation as a destination for fine food. SOURCE | |

Rep Power: 10 | Maybe it's like in the Godfather when he came to this country they gave him the name of the town he lived in as a last name when he was processed at Ellis Island. I think that is why we have many different spellings of lots of names in this country. Depending on what window they went to the guy that processed the paperwork didn't speak their native language and spelled things however they thought it should be. Maybe Guy wanted his historical name and changed it. I am of course just guessing. |

Rep Power: 10 | My Dad's uncle spells the last name slightly differently than we do.

Rep Power: 10 | This blog has the most irritating color scheme but Tuesday, September 04, 2007 Guy "Guido" Fieri
We went to Curley's Grill for lunch today and both had hamburgers - Greg's with fries and mine with onion rings. Who did we see but none other than Food Network Star and Ferndale-raised, Guy "Guido" Fieri (formerly known as Guy Ferry until he successfully won the second season of Who Wants to be the Next Food Network Star?) who hosts the show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Our claim to Guy is that we rented his parent's house in Ferndale from 1999-2000. Guy's parents, Jim and Penny, use to own the former Ferndale store, Dave's Saddlery. It was good to see Guy again with his two sons.
