Guy Fieri, the bleached blonde, tattooed Food Network personality who currently hosts three TV shows on the cable channel, has just finished off a $19 soft shell crab BLT at Bubba's Diner in San Anselmo, Calif. He describes it as delicious.
Bubba's does not appear in Mr. Fieri's new book, "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives: An All-American Road Trip…with Recipes." But dozens of others are referenced, explored and explained, ranging from the A1 Diner in Gardiner, Maine to Mike's Chili Parlor in Seattle. Recipes feature such classic road fare as buttermilk pancakes; mom's meatloaf, and steak tacos. The book is published by William Morrow, an imprint of News Corp.'s HarperCollins Publishers. News Corp. also owns The Wall Street Journal.
