The first comes from Barefoot Contessa Family Style by Ina Garten (Clarkson Potter, 2002). I watched her make these on the Food Network. ...

Spoke to my brother yesterday and he said he was watching the Holiday cookie special on FN. Said he thought he'd try one of the recipes. He didn't know whose recipe it was but said the cookies were really delicious.

He told me he used pre-made sugar cookie dough and added cranberries and pistachios...I said, "Wow, that was Sandra Lee's recipe." He said, "I don't know who she is, but man, were they GOOD!"

I'll have to give them a try.

BTW, I keep on forgetting to mention this. The liquor store that I go to always has the TV on, which is right by the checkout. I have to laugh as it is three men and they ALWAYS have the channel set to the Food Network. I asked them why and they said they really enjoy watching the cooking shows. I guess the FN audience doesn't really have one particular group that it attracts. You would never think of these men watching it. Way to go FN!!:91:

That's great. Maybe they are looking for a way to impress the ladies with their culinary knowledge.

Maybe, but I really don't mind going in there with FN on the TV. All the sports drive me crazy and this is a nice change...especially in a liquor store!
