I know it seems like an odd question but it seems that every time Ina cooks up a yummy dish for someone besides her husband, she's usually cooking for a gay male couple. Not that I'm against GMC's but I feel somewhat discriminated against. I just am interested why she can't seem to cook for straight couples. It's a minor thing I know but I'm curious.
Hey, if you have two neat, middle age men sharing a beautiful home, they're not straight. Not that it matters though...she has some wonderful recipes even for us straight guys.
She has many women friends that come over with their children and she has had parties on the beach with m/f couples many times.
Seems that the GMC's stick in our heads because they aren't what you would normally see. Michael, her florist, seems to be a regular and the one gay couple. I believe Michael use to do all the flowers for her catering business, Barefoot Contessa, for many years.
I watch all her shows and believe me, it's not nearly all GMC's...maybe you are just tuning in when she's entertaining them?
For the life of me, I'm trying to figure out why. Please enlighten us?

She has had female/male couples on her show many times. Some of her friends are gay couples, but watch again....she also has parties for her female friends and their children, the construction crew that built her barn, the cast of a musical, lots of different people.
