It was a really really tough defeat for Mark and Lacey, especially in light of their difficulties, and very poor contingency plans by the network should this type of thing happen. Iit would have been nice if the judges would have fairly judged the Samba instead of a flogging. A more deserving score and they would have definitely made it to safety. Mark was really having momentum.
But this show for me has officially become a joke. I had a tough time with the defeat of Gilles Marini last season, but this one is just a little too much, given what a lovely person Mark is..
I enjoyed Mark and Anna's routine. I feel for Mark so much. He got crucified and did not deserve it. He took it like a champ though. Mark is an amazing person, the truest gentleman. He will ever pass by without a hello, never miss a hand, never miss a smile. But he's also a great dancer with a lot of potential. The routine wasn't perfect, but he had hip action, bounce action, a lot of material and a crazy, gravity-defying flip. To give him a 6? Are you crazy? Once again, I thought the comments were so rude. Kung Fu Panda doing samba on the Planet of the Apes? Really Bruno? We all like to have fun, but the judges were having too much "fun" there. People put their lives on hold to do the show and you don't treat them like that.
I enjoyed reading Maks' comments and he is correct. Carrie Ann seems to just be watching the feet because that seems to be the one thing she brings up immediately...."I saw a lift, I saw a lift...your foot came off the floor!" And, what about the rest of the dance? She gets so excited to point out the negative and all the drama between all three of them is too much.
All of these shows with 'judges' are starting to be more about the judges and their egos.
Let's go back to the Applause-o-Meter and have the audience decide. Remember the Ted Mack Amateur Hour? They used it WAY back when and didn't Carol Burnett win on that show and go on to be an amazing entertainer?
I think Joanna and Derek will take top honors. Although Mya is excellent, I find as a couple, Joanna and Derek seem to be more insync.
Derek is an excellent dancer, if you watch close, Joanan does very little other than really good posses, he uses her ability in his choreograph very well, and he does most of the actual dancing. He is good at what he does, would I want him teaching my daughter, no he needs to teach her to actually dance and include more basic movement. But he has always been a judges favorite since he started.

I am a very disappointed to learn that many of the eliminated dancers will be able to re-dance their favorite dance. Unfortunately instead of the Jitterbug that Mark loves, and should have got an encore, he's going to be in group dance with Chuck Liddell and Anna T and Lacey...
Personally this is very disappointing. I think that the producers don't want Mark to do such a crowd pleasing dance, because the final dancers simply do not have his ability. The Freestyle is all about doing something WOW and Mark has already done it.

Agreed. Joanna is not a strong dancer. She's had very poor footwork throughout the competition, her dance position is not great, she doesn't point her toes and her extensions are very poor. She would not be able to do a solo like Mark did, and actually Natalie had a much better Ballroom frame in the Foxtrot than she did. It seems like Joanna is being pushed to the front, but I don't see her deserving it.
It appears that Mark will be doing a Paso doble for his finale dance on the show. This is a new dance that is being choreographed for him and Chuck Liddell and their partners. This one I understand is going to have a mini fight scene in the piece.
Although it is for entertainment and not votes, I would have preferred a replay of his Jitterbug, as other eliminated dancers will be re-performing their favorites.
