Agreed. IMHO Symon's win was the worst-kept secret at Food Network. Between a person claiming to work for Morimoto who posted that "Simon" (sic) won and the Toronto Star article about the Canadian chef vs. Symon, if it wasn't fixed, there was no attempt to keep it secret. The other "clue" was the sudden rush of overexposure of Michael Symon.

OTOH, a lot of folks didn't know who John Besh was before TNIC (I did, but that's because I saw him in a seafood competition and found him extremely entertaining -- and he won).

John Besh was the only one I did know from before he got on. He's just an all around classier chef. Simon won because the judges were young and he's hip. I do believe if the older guy who's always a judge (blanking on his name) was on the panel, the outcome would have been different. Instead we had young 30 somethings deciding and assuming all the viewers thought like them. There was no balance.

Symon seemed to fit the role of Iron Chef. Besh is by far more personable and would do well with his own show.

Maybe that is what the judges/producers have in mind....hopefully!

I don't think we have seen the last of Besh on the FN.

I think the first chef to compete in Kitchen Stadium should be Besh....then, he could select Symon as his competition!

That's something I definitely wouldn't watch. Sucking it up and watching Paula is going to be painful enough.

I told you weeks ago that I had it on good authority that Michael was the winner.
Now that FTV has played out the drama, I guess you see that I was correct in my inside information.

But thats exactly why I didn't watch. Since it felt like it was already decided there was no reason to actually watch it.

Weren't these episodes filmed months ago? It's no doubt it slipped out with all the time between the end of filming and showing it now.

Doesn't matter to me who won. I like to see who is the challenger more than who they pick to compete against. They never get speak so we never get to really know anything about them except their cooking skills.

I'd rather see them on their own show where they can really show off their personality and cooking style.
