Rep Power: 2 | Iron Chef America-Jeffrey Steingarten Does anyone besides me, have the urge to CHOKE THE LIVING ---- out of Jeffrey Steingarten, every time he appears as a judge on ICA?
He has to be the RUDEST, most despicable character I've ever seen on Food Network! His acid, insulting responses to his fellow (female) judges, GALLS me.
The man needs a reality check in the way of TACT. I wonder if a male judge has ever been subject to this man's rudeness? If he still has all his real TEETH, I'd bet not.
I'm not in any way a violent person. However, my blood BOILS, when I see that jerk on Iron Chef America.
I remember one female judge tapping him on the arm..and he says, "Don't TOUCH me.." I would have said something like, "Oh, sorry, that's right...you're CONTAGIOUS!"
Maybe she should have SLAPPED him. But...that wouldn't make good TV...LOL

Rep Power: 2 | This past weekend it was Flay vs. Crawford...and Jeffrey was a judge along with Ted Allen and Marc Ecko. Jeffrey was obviously disgusted with Marc's animated "feigned ecstasy", and told him to just "get a grip". Can you think of a punchline? I can. Something maybe about a GRIP around his THROAT?
Then, as Ted Allen made a comment about how the items on the plate "played well together", Jeffrey, in his inimitable way, said, "No they DON'T, They're DEAD! They just LAY there!"
Ya know...I'm beginning to LIKE Jeffrey! He is really FUNNY, although I don't think that is his INTENTION, and that makes it FUNNIER! I look forward to his next appearance!

Rep Power: 10 | He seems a bit picky at times and others it's true that he just over does it. |

Rep Power: 10 | Sometimes he seems ok, but other times he does seem rather nasty.
I think Ted Allen is probably my favorite judge, he seems well balanced and is polite.

Rep Power: 0 | i read his column in Vogue on occasion and he's not what i pictured seeing him on TV. i don't think he offers much as a judge. it's a shame - his columns are a lot more lively and engaging. perhaps they are really edited.
PS - i saw on Zagat.com -http://www.zagat.com/discuss/ForumPosts.aspx?TID=4003 that Cat Cora will be on tomorrow at 2 PM est - she's the guest for their live chat!
PPS- i knew her carrot canneloni sheets were going to be a hit! how inventive!!! |

Rep Power: 0 | I can't help myself either. I like him too. You at least know he is judging on what he really feels as opposed to some of the other judges. He isn't there to be liked or witty or to play around. |

Rep Power: 10 | He seems moody to me. Sometimes I like him better than others. Depending on the mood I guess. |

Rep Power: 10 | He does seem cranky at times, but every show that has judges, has one that seems to be the controversial one. If they were all sweet and nice, it wouldn't be so interesting, nor would they need to have judges if they all agreed.
