Iron willed winner
Iron willed winner

The Columbus Dispatch - Jan 16 12:33 AMMichael Symon could well become a household name, thanks to the Food Network. In November, the Cleveland resident won the "Next Iron Chef " title on the Food Network show of the same name, joining the company of celebrity chefs Mario Batali and Bobby Flay.

I didn't see many of those shows leading up to his win to become an Iron Chef. What does everyone think--like him, don't or could not care less?

I wanted Chef Besh to win.

Simon had the somewhat grungy look they seem to be going with on the Food Network recently. I don't care for that, his food looked nice. It would be nice if we all could taste the things they make.

His win probably goes along with the 'target' audience that was discussed on another thread yesterday.
I'll be interested to see what, if any, additional show they give him.BerryBaby

Maybe they wont Cat Cora and MM<--- not going to try and spell that one. Only do Iron Chef. I think Flay and Batali live in New York, that might be why they had additional shows.

Cat Cora had that show where she would help re-do kitchens. Remember that?
It wasn't a cooking show, but she would help them come up with a few dishes for their newly redesigned kitchens.
I loved the carpenter on that show but don't know his name. Read he was on some soap opera and is a startup comic. He gave me the impression that he was an actor, but not a comic. One never knows!BerryBaby

Yes I do remember that one now that you mention it. Seemed like something better for HGTV.

Kitchen Accomplished! What a great show...the line-up:
Chef Cat Cora, design expert Wolfgang Schaber, and contractor Peter Marr.
Peter is alsp the contractor for a mobile home makeover show (can't think of the name right now) as well. Here's a cut & paste from the network:
Each week, our kitchen SWAT team...surprises a homeowner in desperate need of a new kitchen. With the homeowner's wish list as a starting point, the team has three days to complete a total kitchen makeover. Our cameras capture the entire process, including the moment the homeowners see their brand-new kitchen. Along the way, our talented trio provides you with advice you can use for your own kitchen.
Unfortunately, there were only 13 episodes taped (KA1A01-KA1A13). One of my favorites.
