"This is Iron Chef America!"
He's the award-winning chef and owner of restaurants in center city Philadelphia, including
Amada and
Tinto. He's writing a cookbook. And now, Jose Garces is going Hollywood, competing on the Food Network's "
Iron Chef" television show on August 17th.
"I am the first Philadelphian besides Morimoto, who's an 'Iron Chef,' to appear. So I think it's pretty significant for our town."
He's sworn to secrecy until the show airs, but:
"I think we represented Philadelphia pretty well."
