Was it pre-ground or did she grind it herself?

I think I saw her on TV once.

She ground it with a frying pan! I would never think of using that much pepper in a week, let alone one dish.........................but something about her cooking sounded good....................or maybe it was just.............food!

Her name is Lidia Bastianich.
She and her family own Filida's in NYC and she has been on cooking on PBS for about 8 years.
She has a 1/2 dozen cookbooks on the market
Her son Joe is Mario Batali's partner in several of Mario's restaurants and Lidia is an operating partner with Joe and Mario in his latest NYC verture - Del Posto.
Mario credits her with teaching him a ton about Italian and Restaurant cooking.
She's probably the closest thing we have to an Italian Julia Child.
She has a website http://www.lidiasitaly.com/index2.htm

I never watch PBS so that is probably why I haven't seen her. Sounds interesting though. I have seen her on the list for an online cookbook club I joined.

Many of the foodies and some of us chefs like to see what other talented cooks are doing.
As I said on another thread, when FNTV changed their format, I went back to some of my favorite food professionals.
Many of them are on PBS. Some of them are in re-runs on FNTV.
  • Lidia Bastianich
  • Joanne Weir
  • Jacques Pépin
  • Ming Tsai
  • Steven Raichlen
  • Julia Child - "Cooking with..."
  • Todd English
  • Mario Batali
You see FNTV is not the only visual broadcast media to have talented chefs showing us how to build great food at home.

Yeah but the food network is kinda my thing ... considering the website and all, I try to keep up with it for content here. I do have Steven Raichlen's indoor grilling book and I bought the grilling bible for my brother since he does out doors. Raichlen teaches a class at the Greenbrier Resort here in WV but it is quite expensive.
