Rep Power: 10 | Debbie Meyer, Green Bags Has anyone tried these? I have seen the ad on TV and I wonder if they really do work. Seems too good to be true. http://kitchen-dining.hsn.com/debbie...9&prev=hp!3409 |

Rep Power: 10 | I've seen this ad and thought, "Why?" Seems to be adding to the landfill with more plastic.
I buy only what I will use within the week. Personally, I like to use produce within a short period of time. No need to buy produce for weeks on end and then have it take up space in the fridge....just my opinion.

Rep Power: 10 | I do in the summer, but in the winter if it's bad and you wanted to keep things on hand for soup if it was very bad weather it might be nice. I usually end up buying frozen now for winter if I want to keep them on hand. I live on top of a big hill (of course in WV) and I hate going out in bad weather if I don't have to. But frozen works well enough I suppose. |

Rep Power: 10 | Ok, I'm going to eat my words!
I bought Green Bags yesterday. Previously, I said I didn't see the point. However, they had a product tester on one of the morning shows and they proved that these work very well.
We'll see. I'm testing them with the super, huge, container of grapes I bought at Costco. Have some just on the counter, the others are in the Green Bag. I'll report back in a week and let you all know the results.

Rep Power: 10 | Ok! I actually use to be a product tester for a research company. It was fun...don't know exactly why I stopped?

Rep Power: 1 | I bought these bags last year and thought they were a waste of money. There were enough bags in one order so I gave my daughters each some to try and they didn't like them either. The real 'test' was the bananas and the strawberries. I don't know who they're trying to fool but my bananas did NOT pass the test. Even though they didn't get as brown as they normally would (in a given amount of time), they got all mushy and weren't fit to eat. And the strawberries didn't last long before they started to grow fur. The bags are coated (inside and out I think) with something that prevents spoilage. You can rinse them out with just plain water (no soap) for a specific amount of times (maybe 9?) before they lose their effectiveness. I don't recall what I paid for them but if you have a spare $25 to throw at something.....I'd aim it at something else.

Rep Power: 10 | So far mine seem to be doing very well. The celery has stayed crisp, as has the lettuce. It will be a week tomorrow.
They did a story about the strawberries going bad on one of the morning shows. The company responded by saying they cannot be moist/wet when you put them in the bags. Also, you are not suppose to twist tie the bags, just fold them over.
Mine cost $9.99 for 20 bags, plus I had a 20% off coupon at BB&B. Didn't think they cost too much.
Now, we'll wait and see how the celery is next week!
