| Ninja Master Prep: A Mini Review I've become easy prey for infomercials lately. I've been staying up late, waking up early, and most of the time infomercials are the other thing on TV even vaguely worth watching and the food related infomercials are always the best. For the past month or two I've seen the infomercial for the Ninja Master Prep. Like everything in the infomercial it looks great. It makes salsa and guacamole with ease, easily slices and dices, and does everything you could ask for in the kitchen. The thing that interested me the most was the ability to make icy drinks with the machine. My reluctance towards the product was based mostly on two factors. The price, $60ish, which isn't much for a household item but it is for me. And also we were once the proud owners of the MagicBullet.
In a moment of weakness however I bought the Ninja from QVC a few weekends ago. I got a half-way decent deal, although I've since heard a better one on the infomercial. The machine came in the mail Friday, and I was able to try it out yesterday and today. I don't have any need at the moment for salsa or any regular food prep, but I did feel like a snow cone, and figured crushing the ice would be a good enough test of its abilities. I put a cup full of ice into the machine and blasted it into snow. It looked pretty good, and it didn't burn out doing it like the magic bullet did. The consistency of the snow was very nice, perfect for a snow cone. The flavoring I made from a recipe that came with the machine, its a simple syrup combined with Koolaid mix.
Its not much of a test of the capabilities of the machine so far, but it has already out done the Magic Bullet and successfully made one of the things that I bought it for.
