We are talking about a built in grill. Mine is in my range ... hers was in the counter top model.

It is a countertop range. On one side was the Jenn-air attachment, which was a grill. On the other side were two burners. I replaced the Jenn-air attachment with a burner device. Now I have four burners. I can always put the Jenn-air attachment back on if I want to us it as a grill.

I looked at that very same thing in Jenn-Air with 4 burners when I was shopping, my concerns were the same as yours for cleaning it. It was a difficult task, the range I chose was specifically because of the grill and the ease of cleaning it. I am glad you mentioned it, I feel like I made the right choice now. It really did seem great that you could switch them out though. That is a very nice option.
