Rep Power: 10 | Gas or Electric? Do you have a gas or electric stove/oven?
I have a gas range top on our kitchen island, which I love. We bought this house 14 years ago (new) and it came with the gas and a Jenn-Air, which I removed and put in two burners.
The oven is a built-in with a microwave above it and the oven is electric. I would rather have a full stove/oven combination, but this works for me currently.

Rep Power: 2 | Gas (lp) and gas. Someday a double oven. I would consider electric oven but I have to have a gas range. |

One time I almost singed off my eyebrows on my Grandpa's gas stove.

Rep Power: 10 | BerryBaby did you have the down draft? If so did you like it? I wondered how well that works. It just doesn't seem right since smoke goes up, and I am wondering if that is why you replaced it. We looked at that in the Jenn-Air when we were shopping because we could get that local. We ended up ordering the GE though because I liked the hood the best, we were actually able to fit the pipe into an old fireplace chimney and it worked out great. The GE monogram I have was made by DCS, but now it's done by Fischer Paykel. I just hope if anything goes wrong we can get the parts. But so far so good. |

Rep Power: 10 | Yes, it had the down draft and it worked very well.
I replaced it because I use the burners more than the Jenn-air attachment. I can put it back on whenever I want.
Personally, I like to use my electric counter grill or the grill pan on top of the burners. MUCH easier to clean than the Jenn-air.

Rep Power: 10 | Yes I took that into consideration as well. My grill grates are cast iron and they are as easy to clean as a cast iron skillet. The plate underneath sits on pegs and is stainless you can just lift it out, the drip pans underneath pull out of the front like a drawer, all of that can go in the dishwasher. The others I looked at like wolf, blue star, thermador, had theirs made so you have to use a screwdriver to get to anything below the cooking surface. That seemed like too much of a pain and I knew I wouldn't like that. |

That's the compromise you have to make to get 16K BTU burners.

I don't understand?
You removed a Jenn-Air range and replaced it with a 2 burner range?
