Rep Power: 10 | Pressure cooker Do any of you have a pressure cooker? My grandmother had one and it was frightening, seemed like a bomb setting there ready to blow. I was scared to death of it. I hear they are making a comeback and have improved somewhat in performance and lessened the bomb like aura they had. |

Rep Power: 1 | My grandmother had an explosion once, she was cooking beets, and went outside to say hello to someone passing by, well she being extremely long winded forgot about the pressure cooker, and it exploded, spraying beets all over the kitchen. My grandfather was in the next room, and thought he had been shot at! Well the pressure cooker actually bowed so the bottom was rounded. This could have been very dangerous if someone had been in the kitchen.
If they are used properly they can be safe, I used one back when I lived with my mom with no problems, I was thinking of buying one, but I already have too many pots and pans!

Rep Power: 10 | I bet that was a mess to clean up. I can just imagine my husband fussing if I did that. |

Rep Power: 2 | I've never owned one. My best friend's mom couldn't live without hers, but it always made me nervous - it always looked like it was going to blow like a volcano. |

Rep Power: 10 | We had one when I was real little. I was so afraid of it that I would hide until dinner was done. It was very scary!

Rep Power: 2 | I never knew that they went out of style if they did at all.
My moms had a 6-qt Presto. I've both a 6-qt Fagor and a 7-qt Rikon Kuen.

Rep Power: 3 | Don't have one and don't plan on getting one. We had one when I was a kid and the dang made me feel like you're standing next to a kid with a balloon that you know he's just gonna pop but you just don't know when. |

Rep Power: 10 | Seems like we all have been scarred for life as children by these things. |

Rep Power: 2 | got one, love it, makes cooking fast, and makes my chicken gizzards tender. Bought mine off of QVC, really not much to be concerned about, has a lot of safety features the old ones did not have.
