My Garlic Press just broke.

Can anyone recommend a good one? This is the one I had and the press secton with the little holes cracked and a huge section of press broke out of it.

Did you buy it from WS catalog?
Can you say "lifetime grantee?"

I bought it from the william sonoma in Palm Springs California when we were on a trip. I wonder if I can convince my husband I must return it to the store. Probably not.

Call one for their stores or their web customer service.
I would bet that they'll do something for you.

Maybe I could email them and send a photo of it. See what they say. I will let all you know.

Good luck and let me know if they give you any trouble.
I have some good friends there.

I also watch "America's Test Kitchen" on PBS on Saturdays and they always have a short spot on their shows where they tell you what the best kitchen products are. On the one they did for garlic presses, the #1 press was Zyliss. I bought mine at Bed, Bath & Beyond and I think it was around $10-$15 but well worth it. It's cast aluminum, easy to clean and has a plastic doo-hickey with teeth on it that fits right over the holes on the outside of the press for easy cleaning if you happen to get something stuck. Then it snaps right into the handle for easy storage.

Until you get yours replaced, you can always use one of those zesters (either large or regular holes) and grate it. That works pretty good as well.

This one had the little cleaner in the handle too, and I like that it sliced too. I even used the slicer for small shallots. I am going to miss it.

It says on their website they will respond to me in the next 24 hours. I guess if they replace it, then it will be the same kind.

I love your writing style, "doo-hickey" I must have used that word a million times but have never typed it!
