The kichenaid stand mixer is a real power tool for sure. | Oh funny story, I got a Cuisinart stick blender for christmas (brushed stainless model). On christmas day, I used the whisk in the provided cup to whip some heavy cream, my finger hit the button before my hand grasped the cup firmly, I had cream all over the place, on the cabinets, my new knife block, all over my shirt and even on my ear. This is one powerful stick blender, it whipped the cream with lightning speed!

Rep Power: 10 | Yeah the cup doesn't seem real sturdy. But I am glad you liked the power. I will have to think of a way to use mine. |

Rep Power: 1 | A good number of years ago, I bought a Bravetti brand electric hand mixer from the Home Shopping Club. (Yah, I was a junkie at one time but I kicked the habit, LOL.) It was 255 watts and cost $19.95. I used that mixer for many years until it died. In fact, I liked it so much (the power), I bought one for each of my daughters. Last year my oldest daughter told me that her husband went to use it, yanked out the retractable cord way past the limit and broke it, so I went online, found they still sold them and bought three more; one for her and one each for my youngest daughter and myself for when ours poops out. (And I lucked out cause they were on sale for $22.99.) I guess what I'm saying is you don't necessarily have to spend megabucks and buy a well-known brand name (Kitchenaid, Cuisinart) to get more bang for your buck. You can find a jewel anywhere. In the case of my hand mixer, I'm a happy camper.

Rep Power: 1 | I, too, love the power sticks. It makes quick work of pureeing soups over lugging out the blender and getting goop all over your counter. I don't often get lumps in my gravies or sauces but it works wonders smoothing those out as well. Bakerman, your story about trying to whip cream reminded me of an episode when my kids were still living at home and I tried using a shortcut to make us some root beer floats in 'mass quantities'. Let's just suffice it to say, don't ever use a Tupperware shaker-mixer, 'cause the carbonation will blow the small pop-lid right off even though you're holding it firmly and will deposit the contents not only all over your window and curtains but your ceiling as well.

The iron is the best that I have ever used, never loses steam, one swipe and the wrinkles are gone!

One time dad went camping and it rained really hard they were trying to eat beans and it was raining so hard it beat the beans out of the plate.
Everyone knows the rain story now. |
