When I went to Alton's book signing in March--I know I posted about that, but my brain was in a fog for weeks after and I think I forgot this part!

-- I asked him about the Fiestaware in the early episodes.
So he tells me that he likes Fiestaware! Then he says with a little mischievous smirk, "but it's poison." I started laughing and told him, "not any more!" (He was talking about the lead paint in the older red pieces).
That's when I pulled out something I brought. I told him that I had come from WV for the book signing and I wanted to give him something. At this point, he backs away from me and has the guy helping him with the book signing to back up too, but all the while he's got this grin on his face. He asked if I had brought my guns and ammo. So I start laughing at him and he walks back up to me. I unwrap my item and hand him a sunflower colored Fiestaware trivet (I liked it because it had the senorita dancer logo on it).
He looks at me and asks if this is for him. I told yes and something my mush brain can't recall now. He just keeps looking at it. He makes a move to sign it, then stops and asks me again if it is for him to keep. I told him yes. He smiled at me and thanked me for it. Then after we talked and he signed my book, he thanked me again as I was leaving.
I don't know what he was thinking when I gave it to him, but it really seemed that he appreciated that I gave him something. In fact, it seemed to catch him off-guard. I know it made me feel awesome because he was so nice in the way he accepted it.
