You can STILL get major appliances in black (called onyx now).

There IS however, a co that sells pink applances of any other color you might desire, but they are also made retro '50s & '60s-style and you'll have to fork up tons of money for one!

And BTW, small appliances are available in pink, especially K'Aid small appliances (Cook for the Cure).

I remember on Design Star they redid a kitchen that once belonged to Lucille Ball. She had pink appliances.

I knew you could get black still. Black and white will probably always be available.

Of course, black appliances are still available.

I was speaking about decorating with pink and black...tile, floors, walls...those were the colors back in the day and torquoise was VERY popular as well.

Getting married in the 70's we had the avocado green appliances. In our apartment we had long, burnt orange, shag carpet that we would rake instead of vacuuming.

My mom had the brownish color when I was a kid. Both the cooktop and the wall oven.

:madass:I once had a Kenmore fridge in brown (coffee). It lasted for about 16 years. I hated to get rid of it though, because of the color. It was my only appliance ever in that color.

we had a harvest gold GE cooktop and wall oven, with a Philco Harvest gold fridge, add to that the fake wood paneling, and we had one groovy 70's kitchen!

Our first house in the 70's also had the avocado green appliances, but our shag carpet was a antique gold. It was so long, things would get lost in it and you'd never seen them again!

We strictly had white appliances through the '50's, '60s and '70s.
