Yeah, cast iron cookware is very exceptional for making one pot meals and casseroles!

Only one pot or pan to clean!!

One of my favorite comfort foods and I always use the elbow mac in mine. We like to have it with shredded colby and jack on top with a dollop of sour cream.

I make Chili-mac too. I've never had a recipe for it, though. Just something I throw together I use elbow mac too.

There is a couple things I make that I don't have a "recipe" for and one of them is my chili. Some others are beef stew, chowders and shrimp & grits. It just depends on what I have on hand and the mood I'm in when I make them. Unlike Mr. Bowtie who thinks you have to follow his recipes to the t and never, ever change them.

Walmart carries a enameled cast iron dutch oven for under $50, it is made by tramontina and it was very well reviewed by cooks illustrated. I have an off brand from Target and it is holding up quite well.

Here is one: This is the tramontina

And it looks like they carry the Lodge brand for only a few dollars more.

I have a large Lodge enameled one. It's nice. I have to admit Le Creuset is nicer though. I have some of it too.
