Nigella Whisk

Does anyone else have the whisk from Nigella Lawson? We bought a couple of them before we knew who she was (and I think they were on sale) and I think its the best whisk I've ever used. Ours is a light blue color that she seems to use a lot.

It's looks like a Hawthorn Strainer that broke. No I haven't seen those around here in the hills yet.

I've had mine for years..before I even knew who she was. Did she 'invent' these? She must have been very young if she did.

My grandfather was the inventor of the hand squeezing, flour sifter. We have the original proto-type and patent papers. He sold it to a major manufacturer way back when.

He also would design cookie cutters and make those in his basement. Had all the equipment and he would take us all down there for demonstrations. It was fascinating as he drew them and would use these big pieces of metal to make them one by one.

Also made specialty cake pans for bakers in Chicago. He was very talented...oh, and he was also a professional opera singer. His life was very full and he passed away at 89. So many wonderful memories!

Wow that's very cool. Thank you to your grandfather. I have one of those.

I bought this whisk for my Mom---both she and I have used it and it's surprisingly very efficient; I think its looped shape, coupled with the closely set wire rings, beats a more controlled area. It's sort of like a modified fork .

...And "BerryBaby"--thanks for the wonderful story about your grandfather. What a resourceful and talented man!

MagiWhisk

The one in the picture is from Nigella Lawson's own line of products. I don't find it very comfortable in my hand.

The one she originally used on Nigella Bites was called a MagiWhsik. Fante's (I believe) still sells them. It didn't have the big handle, but had a flat stainless handle.

I feel left out. I haven't seen any of her products.

I wonder why the Food Network doesn't carry them in her section? http://store.foodnetwork.com/shop/th...&go.x=0&go.y=0
