Did Rival Stop Making Slow Cookers? For many years since the mid to late' 70s, Rival has been making slow cookers.
In fact, I think they were the first co to introduce them, and they practically flew off the store shelves!!
I just visited there website looking for a slow cooker to give to someone as a gift, and there was not one to be found!! Have they stopped making them?
It's shocking!!

Doesn't Rival make the Crock-Pot brand of slow cookers? It's hard to turn around in the appliance aisle of the store without one looking you in the face.

well, I guess not, because there was a Rival Crocpot ad in the sidebar wen I wrote this e-mail!
A quick search on amazon brought up a full page of them.MAC
Before you criticize someone you should walk a mile in their shoes, that way when you criticize them you are a mile away and you have their shoes!

Stores and websites may still have them in stock, but when I went to Rival's website and clicked on the Products button, not even so much as ONE model was there.
The Slow Cooker was their hottest-selling item for years. They even stopped making the Smoker and even the BBQ Pit Crock Pot Slow Cooker!! I'm so glad that I bought one before they stopped making it!
They STILL have their countertop electric roasters though. Seems they are selling fewer and fewer products thogh. Makes you wonder if THEY'RE going out of business.
Even though there may still be some on the store shelves, the ones by Rival will soon disappear.
For many years, the slow cooker has been a valuable and versatile appliance in the kitchen, saving people time and money by cooking cheaper cuts of roasts to fork-tender goodness and meals while the family & kids went to work and to school - coming home to a mouth-watering hot meal in the afternoon.
Is this also the turn of the times where certain kitchen appliances are being phased out of production and are going by the way of electronics - forcing you to either do without or upgrade to more expensive models?

Mystery solved!
They didn't stop making those products.
Check this out....Rival sold the Crock Pot brand to Jarden Corp. If you go to their website you will see ALL the Rival Crock Pots and other familiar brands that they now have the rights to.
So, they are still making all those products.BerryBaby

Yeah, I've seen them in Target, but that was a while ago. I think Walmart and Kmart have them as well. I'll have to go out and look.

I think if anything prices on those things have gone down. You can get a crock pot for not much at all unless you are looking for something with added specialized features, in which case you should EXPECT to pay more. Once again Bentley no one ever forces you to buy anything.

Here's the link; Jarden Corporation - Home .
I found them. They also have Oster, Sunbeam, Patton and FoodSaver products there as well.
Thanks.
