Sometimes particles get on the heating element and cause a burning smell. They usually just burn off and the smell goes away. DO NOT wash the element. The heat will take care of whatever is on it.

Shoooer, do you burn a lot of stuff in your appliances ? You asked the same question about your microwave on another forum, if your burning or spilling food into places where you can not reach to clean, I would hire someone to come in and clean them for you, or be real careful that you do not start any fires, cooking fires can wipeout a whole house in minutes.

I removed the link. I have a feeling that was the whole purpose of this post.

My George Jr. Rotisserie does that, but the smell is gone when the heating coil gets red hot.

Grease is the culprit, since the skin on poultry tends to "ping and pop" and most of the fat is extruded to the surface during cooking and drips off.

I usually leave the chicken in the unit and let "carry-over" time finish cooking the chicken.
