Slap Chop Commercial

Okay, we have all seen the Slap Chop Commercial now, anyone tried it yet? I notice Michael Chiarello uses a similar item occasionally. But he usually has rather high end items.

Any reports out there?

I have had a similar product for years, was not called slap chop but has the same principle. I use mine for chopping nuts, works great for that keeps them from jumping all over the place. As using it for much else, just not as practicable, onions, I use the knife already have it out and cutting the onion up to fit in the chopper two or three more strokes, I am done, diced and in the bowl. So for that type of stuff, not really worth getting out.

Ditto on THAT one!

I also have a chopper that is somewhat similar to that as well.

The Oxo Garlic Chopper. And I also use it for other small chopping jobs like small amounts of onions, pickles, nuts, peppers, veggies and whatever else have you.

No law that says you can only use it for garlic. I have an Oxo hand-held grater for grating and shredding cheese.

Also, my food processor has a small mini bowl with its own small chopping blade that sits on top of the larger 2 work bowls. I have several cutting boards already.

And then there is the optional chopper that I can also get for the K'Aid stick blender, so I don't feel the need to get this "gotta-have-it gadget, as I think I'm all gadgeted out. Haha!!

I gotta admit they tempt me with these commercials too. I have a weakness for kitchen gadgets, despite trying to listen to Alton, sometimes he leads me from temptation ... but I still feel that little desire.

The main reason that I have to stay out of BB&B.

Almost every time I go in there, I just can't seem to leave there empty-hand, especially not without some type of kitchen gadget for the house!

If I'm broke, then what's the use in going in there without money, because I'll end up seeing a small little something that feel I just gotta have! And when I HAVE money and I'm in there, SOMETHING is coming home with me, even if it's something that's dinky.

Oxo products are my main downfall.

Ever been in a candy store and see a small child who is in there very excited and jumping up and down for some candy and he wants everything that's there? That's how I am or feel with the Oxo stuff! Like a kid in a candy store!! Most of my utensils and gadgets are from Oxo.

I might very well get one of those old fashion graters though for cheese so that I don't have to dirty up the food processor to use the shredding disk.

Oxo has one out that comes with a small container on the bottom to catch the shredded cheese. And BTW, I've seen Alton use some Oxo products often, so he must like them as well!
