That's the one that the head tilts on. Mine is the Pro 600W with the bowl lift. I got a real good deal on it at BB&B with one of their 20% off coupon and the model in black was on sale too making it a double extra good buy. With the sale price and the coupon it wasn't much more than the Artisan. I've got the bowl shield too, but I've never used it. You're going to enjoy having that mixer.

    How do you make fondant?

Are you asking Tanner specifically or just how it is made?

I make marshmallow fondant, because people actually like to eat it! all I do is make it in big batches, and you melt down marshmallows with a bit of water, and then once it's melted you mix it with a ton of powdered sugar until it starts to come togeather as a dough. than you take it out and knead it until it is the consitency you want...You add extra powdered sugar while you're kneading it.

I have used both extensively and I really like the tilt head. But my best friend who has the pro model with the lift bowl prefers that.

I think that I may get the shield since the new beaterblade likes to throw stuff out of the bowl. I do love the beaterblade though!

I've not had that problem with the beaterblade. I so love that blade and it's great not to have to stop and scrap down the bowl.

I've never care for fondant either. Give me a good homemade frosting any day!

Just sort of general. I always see it on FN already made so I wasn't sure how its made.
