I thought I remember reading one of those books that tells you what colors are good for what areas of the house and orange is supposed to be a food color.

I still don't think it is a soothing color for a kitchen or any room. Maybe it's an age thing...I'm past the bright colored walls.

That's one of those "says who?" type statements. I can't even watch Rachel's show with those orange cabinets, no way am I having that color in my kitchen.

The choice of site colors here on the forum are kinda based on that. Green and Orange are supposed to be connected in the mind with food. I am not sure why.

So if Orange is associated with food. Why is the Food Network logo Red?

I was in Kohl's yesterday and went browsing through the kitchenwares section. I wasn't really all that impressed with the FD kitchenware line. Our Kohl's is in the same plaza as Bed Bath and Beyond, and I was in BBandB just before stepping into Kohl's. I found a lot of stuff to be a bit overpriced.

I did notice that they sold Rachael's "garbage bowls". I don't quite understand the concept of that. I normally keep my garbage can under the sink and just pull it out when I'm cooking. I don't see the need to dirty up yet another dish. Lord knows I hate cleaning up dishes as it is. Besides, I don't find the bowls very attractive.

As for kitchens...I much prefer lighter tones. My walls are currently plain white, but I want to paint them a soft yellow color. I'd also kill for Ina's green striped walls. If I or someone I knew could paint stripes, I'd do it in a heartbeat, or even if I could find comparable wall paper, and I hate wallpaper.
