Fondue - ooooh

Mama just gave me her ancient and unused fondue pot. It's a Descoware and looks exactly like this one (even has the sticker):

eBay.com.my: NEW UNUSED Descoware Chafing Dish Fondue Set Flame Red (item 370192300173 end time Jun 19, 2009 0822 MYT)

It sounds like so much fun - I can't wait to try out Alton and RR's fondue recipes!

I would love to make the stuff they have at the Olive Garden. My husband really likes it.

Suggested Wine Pairing
White - Principato Bianco
This dry medium-bodied Italian white wine has refreshing fruity flavors that match well with the rich, creamy cheeses in this appetizer
Blush - Beringer White Zinfandel
The refreshing berry flavors of the blush complement the cheeses of this dip
Red - Principato Rosso
Our signature medium-bodied Italian red pairs well with the smoked flavor of this cheese dip

Smoked Mozzarella Fonduta
Oven-baked smoked mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and romano cheese. Served with Tuscan bread.

Some of the recipes call for Kirsch (liquor?) What is that?

I think it's a cherry brandy. I have seen it called for in some Black Forrest cakes.

True, FNFan, Kirsche = cherry: It's a clear brandy made from a double destillation of the fermented juice of the Morello black cherry that grows in the Black Forest. Therefore it is believed that this licor originated there.. Salud.
