Amazon Sent Me A Evil Email...

... and I couldn't help myself and ordered one. Amazon.com: Lodge Color Enamel 6-Quart Dutch Oven, Emerald: Kitchen & Dining

I'd been wanting a good heavy enameled cast iron 5 or 6 qt. dutch oven, but never could bring myself to get either the Le Creuset or Staub ones because of the price. But, when I got this email for a 6 qt. one from Lodge I couldn't help myself. It runs $97.95 from the Lodge website, so $69.94 (with FREE shipping) was a pretty good deal. I ordered the green one. The reviews on it were real good too!

You're dang right!

Thought if anyone on here was in the market for a good enameled cast iron dutch oven, I wanted them to know about this. The hardest thing for me was trying to decide between the green or the blue!

Evil that its green, my favorite color.

My mom bought me this exact one last year at the Lodge outlet store in Sevierville, TN (go there if you get the chance!)

Blue and red were the colors... I picked blue.

I love it. Make gumbo, chicken and dumplings and soup in it all of the time.

You'll love it, Pluff

I looking forward to getting it. I have a Allclad stock pot and dutch oven, but there just something about food that simmering long and slow in cast iron that just makes it better. Plus, the cast iron dutch oven is great to bake round loaves of bread in.

All hail the All Clad!! I am sooooo addicted to that stuff (I get most of mine used off of Ebay though). I do, however, have a Le Creuset that I got at the discount store - it's only 4 1/2 qt. though, I wish I had 6!! And the pretty colors are nice too!

The pictures that I posted in another thread show how much I love baking bread in my enameled dutch oven!

Now that I own one, I wouldn't be without one.

I replaced the plastic knob on mine with a nice metal drawer pull that I got at the hardware store, for when I bake bread in a really hot oven.

That's what I'm going to need to do, for the plastic knob is only good up to 400 degrees. After I get it, I'll take the knob with me the next time I'm in town and stop at Lowe's and pick up one that will fit.
