Why would they want to replace the people that made Food Network what it is today?
The Dudes are not interesting to me, Duff has some good ideas, but most of the cakes are more like sculptures with some cake and a lot of inedible materials.
Never once have I seen them give a recipe for cake or frosting. I'd like to know what kind of cake they are using and what is in it.
Give me Michael, Tyler, Alton, Mario, Emeril...they are the Food Network.BerryBaby

Food Network is getting less and less appealing to me.

Maybe FN will read some of our ideas for new shows and spice it up a bit. It needs something to hold our attention. Happy they are running all the holiday shows right now. I find those to be fun and informative.

People who actually cook would be nice.

Maybe they are just in a slump right now, lets hope some one pulls them up before they crash.

Well, we are giving them a ton of new ideas on the other thread. Maybe they will take us up on some of them. There are a lot of good new shows just waiting to happen there!

Ya know...one regret I have...I missed taping "Mario Eats Italy"...I kick myself for being such a freakin' DOLT!
I wonder if the Food Network (or Mario himself) will ever release that on DVD? Or maybe even re-run it?
Nawwww. that would be asking TOO much...

Suzie's remarks about Molto Mario may be accurate, but having grown up in an Italian neighborhood, I find that his dishes are easy to duplicate and worth the effort. He strives to flesh out the origins of the recipes and he accurately makes the point of just why the preparation follows the Italian tradition. He's worth watching.

I always liked the show because he did usually have a story about the grandmothers in the Italian kitchens and what they would prepare from what is available in their area. Even when I knew I would never prepare what he was demonstrating I found the show enjoyable.

I enjoyed his information on the dishes he was making. Much more so than the giggling and chatter that is on most of the FN shows.
