The New York Times' article about the Food Network today was probably most remarkable for its totally incomprehensible photo illustration, which we would ...

Last night I saw the new promo (cartoon) for Iron Chef. Mario was one of the characters and it looks like the new Iron Chef as well.
Starts next week, so we will see.BerryBaby

Mario announced, several months ago, that he was going to be continued as an Iron Chef.
With his current record in that competition, it would be hard to let him go.
(Unless they want to have Iron Chef become another "Throw-down", with the star loosing almost every battle(?))Clove

Mario is by far my favorite Iron Chef, and I would think most other people's as well. The new guy has only been on once or twice as far as I know. Cat Cora also is not featured very often. I think if the Network starts to get rid of the fan favorites, people are not going to be happy and it will start to show in the ratings.

I agree, although I was a Besh fan in the competition over Symon. I would love to see them do a show with him in the future. It's nice to add people and keep the old, maybe then all the stars wouldn't be on 3 or 4 shows each. That's how a lot of people got Rachael Ray burnout.

Susie,
Me too. I was a Besch fan in the competition. I was disappointed when Symon won.

I am still hoping they will bring him on for some kind of show of his own. I will keep wishing.

The FN has become Rachael's network with Paula close behind. Wish they would go back to their roots and feature real chefs with shows we can relate to.
I know how to make things out of a box. I know how to travel and eat out. And, I will never be in a competition where I have to move a cake that weighs 300 pounds!
Come on, get back to the basis, FN! We want shows that will encourage us and give us information on how to be fabulous cooks.
All the 'fluff' shows are just that...fluff. Fluff doesn't taste good..it's all air.BerryBaby
