Public TV has come a long way
It's no Food Network, but my current favorite on PBS is Rick Bayless' Mexico -- One Plate at a Time.

Rick Bayless is great, very authentic Mexican food, love how it is researched and than reproduced with products we can get here or make here in the US. I have a couple of his cook books.
