Taking a break from the kitchen of our new NapaStyle store in Yountville, I'm happy to report that we've opened the doors and are ready to greet you. What's got my creative attention this week are a few garden-to-table ideas that we've made for the opening event (this Sunday, July 13th), such as Apricot Black Anise Marmellata, or Cambozola Roasted Garlic spread with Crispy Rosemary. I've asked Rick at Cook's Company Produce to find me Apricots from that I can have hours after they are picked. In this day and age, that is hard to do, even for many restaurants. But guess what - he came through! The Marmellata is spectacular. And slowing it down just a bit allows me to pick the rosemary from my garden, get local lavender and sage, and capture the flavors of summer in each jar. I'll post the recipe here for you to try yourselves! (
