I have always thought it would be nice to get him to do a wine show. Maybe prepare a meal to go with different types of wine and the ingredient he thinks the wine will bring out. I could learn a lot from that I am sure. I don't follow some of the descriptions they give wine and he seems very good at explaining recipe flavors, I think he would be able to help me understand more about wine since he has so much experience with it.

Easy drinking with Michael Chiarello. Well maybe they could call it something else.

Too bad you don't have Women for Winesense chapter in WV. I have been a member for 10 years and it is amazing how much you learn about wines and parings.
Maybe you could start one? They have a chapter in Virginia that you could contact.

I don't know that there would be enough interest around here. I live in the Charleston Area and there are more things here than in a lot of areas that are more rural, because we have hospitals and the downtown districts since this is the State Capitol. The largest portion of the state lives below the poverty level though.

I might consider it when my son is older, right now school things for him and my daughter. Plus soccer and boy scouts keep me running.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried it here? I would like to know if it was and if it failed. Could be why there isn't any now.

You may want to go their website and send in your question. We have about 60 people that usually attend. Not sure how many members there are in Portland. Men are encouraged to attend as well, but we don't get many of them.

We do have an advantage with our wine country being so close. Oregon has a beautiful wine country and is second in the nation next to Napa. We use to go there quite often when we lived in the Bay Area. Washington State also has many wineries and many of the speakers are from there. They have great wine as well with Chateau St. Michelle and others.

Can't wait for October when the wineries have their harvest fests. Really fun times!
