Rep Power: 1 | I keep thinking of this when I hear about our presidential candidates' embellishments.
"You mean the Queen didn't give you a castle and the highest order of knighthood? No problem, Robert!"
"Oh, Hillary, you weren't really running from bombs in Bosnia? Well, that's okay, no problem."
A lie is a lie no matter the circumstances and once we start accepting lies from one person, we'll be accepting them from everyone. |

Rep Power: 10 | That's true. But at least Robert wouldn't be responsible for representing a country and his judgement is only going to be needed for what ingredients to use. And unlike politicians his past really isn't that important to us for watching a TV show. It's obvious he's a great chef, I don't know why he would lie to begin with. Most people on TV, the average person doesn't know anything about their private life.
I wonder if he was offered this show or if he applied for it and was selected above others? |

Rep Power: 1 | I just read about this today...wow, very dissapointing.
It's tough, but I think the best thing for the food network is if they didn't have Irvine on for a while. I do think he deserves a second chance, but not right now -- time heals wounds and this wound is a pretty big one.
That said, I will miss him. I love his show as his food looks good. I always thought he'd be a great Iron Chef. From some things I've read, apparently he can be kind of a jerk, but his show is nonetheless entertaining and he really blew it by getting in such hot water.
Also, sounds like he got wayyy in over his head. Not sure why the lady in Tampa thought he had so much money. He has one show on TV and one book, and i think a few restaurants, but not much more...that's good for a nice salary, but not for being super rich. |

Rep Power: 10 | I was talking to my sister on chat (she's at home I'm at work) and I mentioned that Robert isn't going to do dinner impossible anymore and that they have a new guy to do it and her words were "He was dinner impossible".
I hope Michael can be successful on the show, but he has some pretty popular shoes to fill.

Rep Power: 0 | Robert Irvine was DI, I watched the show with Micheal Symon and he just did not cut it. I'm sure he is a good chef but he isn't Robert Irvine. I will not be watching the DI unless Robert is brought back. |

Rep Power: 10 | Robert has posted on his blog that he has another show in the works. Another member has posted it in another thread. We don't know what or where it will be yet though. |

Rep Power: 0 | It's a slip of the tongue. Bring him back. The President lies every day to us and we haven't done anything. This is entertainment, not running a country. Offer him a new contract. Otherwise, I hope he follows the other stars who have jumped ship to FLN. |

Rep Power: 10 | No politics here. We don't want those kind of debates getting started on a food site. No reason to even mention politicians in this forum. |
